My Students
One of the things that make my students so special is the fact that they live in one of the poorest places in America yet they still find the motivation to excel in all their work in school. They don't know they live in one of the most poorest parts of the country; they just want to learn! They have generous hearts and love to help other people. They don't let it hold them back. I want them to be motivated to figure things out and learn on their own! I want to flame that fire.
I am their educator, I help them to be educated, I guide them how to discover education; it means so much more when they discover!
I am here to help them realize the discovery of education and learning is its own reward!
I am here to guide them, teach them, help them. I want to provide them with the tools they can use to help themselves. If I fish for them, they won't learn. If I teach them how to fish, they will learn how to do it themselves! Every time I present them with a new topic, they run with it!
My Project
This is a testing year for my students. When they ask me a question, I automatically show them on my computer how to find the answer. We find the answer, discuss it, and maybe write about what they learned. They talk about how great it is that the information is right at my fingertips.
My students need to feel the excitement of typing in their interest, and immediately getting an answer on a Chromebook.
Every week we are researching different fossils, landforms, life cycles, minerals, animals, anything under the sun! We only have my laptop to research needed facts and information. Our students have access to Chromebooks but we share them once a week with 90 other students. I want my class to be able to research at a moment's notice, in small groups, and during independent time.
