Chromebooks Needed in the Classroom

My Students

They are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher.

They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long, successful careers.

They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

Education is a gift that no one can take away.

Reading is powerful fuel to learning. Reading is knowledge.

In class, we are all teachers and all learners.

My Project

I am requesting five Chromebooks to build towards a 1:1 ratio for students in my classroom, which will be used for all subject areas: reading, math, social studies and science. These computers will provide my students the means to practice reading, writing and math skills in small groups. For example, students who are working on equivalent fractions will access a web site that offers math practice in that area. The kids will work on creating equivalent fractions until they have become proficient in or have mastered the skill. Many websites offer kids immediate feedback and give kids more examples on which to work. We have some educational websites that really allow the students to discover, learn and grow with immediate feedback.

These Chromebooks will enrich the learning opportunities for my third grade student.

As of now, I have ten Chromebooks from previous fundraisers. I have an average of twenty-six students. A class set of Chromebooks will allow my students to receive an individualized curriculum to serve their needs.
