This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently have 25 six- and seven-year-old students in my classroom. I am teaching first graders in a Title I school, located in a high poverty and high crime area of Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have three special education students and two ESL (English as a Second Language) students in my classroom. Several of the students in my classroom have an in-class social worker.
My Project
We need 2 more Chromebooks for when we have computer center time. We don't have enough computers for each child who comes to this center and the children have to share computers.
The children will take turns using the Chromebooks to read and listen to stories on Reading A-Z.
They will also take quizes based on these stories. They will also use the Chromebooks to practice their letter and sound recognition.
We would love to have your support in funding these 2 Chromebooks. Thanks so much for your consideration.
Your donation will make 25 first graders very happy and also smarter.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
