Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many of the students at my school have limited access to technology and digital resources at home, but through the school library they have access to eBooks and online databases. These students come from diverse backgrounds, and some of the families are faced with the daily struggle to meet their family's basic needs.
As the school librarian, I want to get the students excited about reading and using technology in the library.
By giving students access to technology in the library, I hope to encourage the students to become life long learner and readers.
My Project
I am requesting two HP Chromebook laptops and Listening Center Headphones. With these Chromebooks students will read eBooks that the school has already purchased and access digital resources that our school district currently funds. Younger students will be able to listen to and read books on TUMBLEBOOKS and EPIC! Older students will access many digital resources available through TexQuest. The Chromebooks can also be use to complete research projects and access the online library catalog.
Students enjoy opportunities to use technology.
I want to be able to encourage them and get them excited about the many different ways they can use technology in the library.
