Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 6th grade students are amazing and curious! They love to use technology and immediately become engaged when a computer is put in front of them. We use them for writing, science, reading, math and any other area we can. They love to create using these tools. We have a high number of homes being built in the area and so continuously in need of more and updated technology. All students will benefit from this new technology in our classroom.
My Project
The Chromebooks will be used in my classroom to allow the students to have access to Imagine Learning Math, a program that caters to the student's individual level to improve skills and challenge them. It will also give them access to common assessments that will prepare them for high stakes testing.
Technology encourages engagement, so a Chromebook will help my students become more interested in their learning.
This will build confidence and stamina in tasks that require deeper thinking. They will be able to do project-based activities on Google Classroom, as well as give them the ability to electronically do and turn in assignments using Google Classroom. A Chromebook will also give them the opportunity to draft, revise, edit, and publish writing that prepares them for upper-level writing classes and will give them access to STEM-based simulations and experiences.
