"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities". This quote describes the students in my class who come from many different cultures, backgrounds, and places. Many of these students are new to the country and need alternative technology to help them better understand the curriculum and the English language.
The 23 students who will be using these Chromebooks are enthusiastic about learning!
When you walk into the class you are greeted with smiles, chatter, and happiness. They enjoy hands-on learning and being proud of what they have accomplished.
My Project
In order to help my students learn, and keep them engaged, it is important to provide them with opportunities to explore the world around them. Chromebooks will help my students to have a better understanding of the curriculum by allowing them to use technologies such as talk-to-text, text-to-talk, online dictionaries and thesauruses, and other applications that will benefit their learning. These applications will allow them to explore the English language and have opportunities to improve on their written and spoken language. Student success is in the eyes of the student. Once a student in confident in themselves, the success will follow. The Chromebooks will help my students to feel that confidence and succeed in school, and later on in the world.
