Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My second graders are all motivated by their unique interests!
They are eager to learn, experiment, and create.
They attend a Chicago Public School located in a high poverty and violence-prone community.
Despite the obstacles they face, they come to school optimistic and ready to engage in the day's activities. As their teacher, I want to instill in them that through education, many challenges can be overcome. They are equally deserving of having as many quality educational experiences as possible in a safe, well-kept environment. Thank you for taking our project into consideration.
My Project
My students will be able to work at their independent level in reading and math. They will also improve their technology skills, especially since right now they only have iPads to work with.
They are currently sharing 30 iPads with two other classes.
Between the classes, there are only 10 iPads left in our room of 28 students.
The technology they will receive will help them be better prepared for life outside the classroom. Also, they are being assessed on how well they are able to manage technology. State exams are now on computers, and this will help them ace the tests as well.
