Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a low income school in Homestead, Florida. Most of our students face many obstacles before even entering the classroom.
My goal is to provide these children with a home away from home and to supply them with all the tools needed to succeed in life.
Including technology they may not otherwise have access to.
My school is a Title 1 school as well. The school consists of children from many different backgrounds, including a large population of immigrants.
My Project
My students are required to use many different computer based programs throughout their educational career. While we try to have everyone complete the required work in class, it is very difficult since I have 20 students and only 2 computers. The children are able to access the programs at home, but the majority of my students do not have computer access at home.
So it is up to me to provide my students with every opportunity to succeed.
This is why I am asking for chrome books for the classroom. It will allow my students more opportunities, and increase their learning gains!
