This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am trying to prepare my students for life in the 21st century, but have not been able to utilize the technology that will best allow me to do this. Adding four Chromebooks to my classroom will allow students to constantly monitor their progress in my class and do individualized work.
My students are eleventh and twelfth graders, many of whom will be the first in their families to attend college.
We are a college preparatory school and believe that we can meet students where they are and prepare them for the rigors of college. We believe that all students can and will learn.
My Project
Adding these laptops will change the culture of my classroom to one that allows for more individualized work. I am incredibly excited to explore the power of apps like WeVideo, Studyblue and Globster.
I wonder how engagement will improve if students are invested in projects with a technology component. Additionally, these laptops will allow students to frequently monitor their performance in English. They will be able to check their grades regularly and stay on top of any missing work.
I am stuck in a 20th century classroom and fear becoming less effective for my students.
We need to incorporate this technology to push ourselves and find ways to reach all students, no matter the challenges they face.
