Chromebooks For Kindergarten Scholars

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school district, I see that my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. We spend a big part of the day together, and one of my goals is to always provide them with authentic, meaningful experiences on a daily basis.

My students are inquisitive, curious and very eager to learn.

They love to learn about new things and especially love hands-on activities. Many of my students are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Unfortunately, some of these things may prevent them from acquiring the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk into my classroom my job is to not only teach them but to make their day a memorable one. I want them to leave my class on a daily basis thinking learning is fun!

My Project

Having Chromebooks in the classroom is such a great way to help my wonderful students build and practice different skills to help them achieve academically. Unfortunately, most of my students do not have computers at home.

Technology is such an important part of this world and having Chromebooks in the classroom can help the children work on a variety skills needed to advance in all subjects.

For example, math and science are crucial subjects and through Chromebooks the students will get to practice the skills and strategies needed to advance academically. The students would be able to visit educational websites to work on the skills and strategies taught. They can complete research for science units and practice math skills. The possibilities are endless!
