it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in the southwestern part of Houston and serves kids from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. We are a neighborhood school and a community in the truest sense of the word. We work very closely with our kids and their families to put them on the path to success. We are a diverse place in many ways and I am very fortunate to teach such a wonderful group of kids.
I have been incredibly fortunate to get support for projects in the past and the resources your generosity has purchased has helped my students use their imagination and go everywhere from Mount Olympus to Manassas, Virginia
My Project
Reliable access to technology is an incredible asset to any classroom. This past year with your support I was able to purchase Chromebooks to help my students explore the world, conduct research, and review important content.
My students need a few more Chromebooks so no one is left out.
I have been able to do some wonderful things this year with the technology I already have - my classes have used Google Classroom regularly for writing assignments, Google Earth to take tours of Mt. Everest base camp and Athens, and many other resources to build vocabulary, review what they've learned and complete projects. However, I still rely on having to borrow some computers from other teachers so that the whole class can participate which can make planning difficult and can limit how frequently we use these awesome resources. Chromebooks have been and can be incredible additions to the classroom if we have enough to go around!
