Chromebooks for Excelling in Mathematics

My Students

Students need access to computers often! In order to create a technology environment to enhance math instruction, I need computers. With computers and headphones, we will be able to view videos, use online math manipulates, and create interactive lessons to engage students in math class.

My students are 6th grade students who are curious and engaged but they would love to be able to do more technology based instruction.

Our school is located in a big city and we have lots of special needs students who depend on technology. My students would love even more if they were able to become more engaged all the time and not just on the days when I can score a computer cart.

My Project

Currently, I have three Chromebooks in my classroom along with 4 outdated desktops. Having access to three additional Chromebooks and headphones would allow students to have a 1 to 4 ratio of technology to student each and every day in my classroom. I would be able to assign utilize tools such as Class Flow every day so students are actively engaged in a math lesson.

I have a large population of special needs students who need my help in becoming engaged in math.

By the time students get to 6th grade they have formulated strong opinions about math. Allowing students to be actively engaged each and every day will help to foster a math relationship for all students.
