Chromebooks for Curious Minds

Help me give my students new, updated chromebooks to facilitate opportunities for research, writing, presentations and enrichment.

My Project

My students are incredibly inquisitive, out of the box thinkers. The majority of them are identified as gifted in one or more areas. Most of them have been in class together for 4-5 years already, which builds a very familial community. Gifted students can feel out of place in a traditional classroom where their bigger than life ideas and question can seem out of place or odd. We are working to create an environment that fosters this love of discovery, imagination, and innovation through project based learning.

Having Chromebooks in our classroom allows me to provide additional opportunities for individualized learning for my students.

Some students are working on self-paced online curriculum, allowing them to access a much larger number of lessons throughout the school year compared to traditional pacing.

However, they are slowed down or lose motivation when they do not readily have access to technology.

Students will also use the Chromebooks for a community service project involving research, informational / opinion writing, math and social emotional aspects. Having additional computers in my room allows for all students to have access to materials at any time throughout the day.
