My Students
My students are amazing. I know, you probably hear this a lot but seriously, they are phenomenal. They attend a Title I school in the Bronx where they each receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Our students often have the odds stacked against them but they do not let this define them.
Our students are creative, innovative and full of life, but this is only part of what makes them so phenomenal.
Our kids are continually defying odds. We have the unique ability of being a public school with a mission to help the world around us in regards to wildlife conservation. Even in an urban setting our students are constantly coming up with ideas to not only help get the word out about species in peril but also to help in their own neighborhoods.
My Project
Is this day and age most of what my students type is either on their phones our our school iPads. While these are amazing means to get assignments done that is just one little thing that is missing. They are not learning how to type!
Without knowing how to type, students will be at an automatic disadvantage when they go off to college.
With these two Chromebooks my students will be able to practice typing by writing papers, and through playing games that teach typing. Students will be able to use these two Chromebooks while they are in school, during their lunch period and also after school in my classroom.
With your help they can go off to college knowing how to type like pros!
