My students need 8 Chromebooks to give them access to current events and scholarly research to deepen their understanding of history. Students currently work in groups of 4, therefore, 8 Chromebooks would give each group internet access.
My students come to class everyday eager and ready to learn. I teach World History, World History for English Learners and AP Govt/Economics. Located in the Silicon Valley, students come from all walks of life bringing with them their diverse perspectives and world views.
My students are bright, and inquisitive historians who question the mainstream narrative of history and strive to make connections with to their own lives.
Our school motto is "We lead, Others Follow," my students strive to embody this idea everyday.
My Project
My students work collaboratively in 4-person pods; these 8 Chromebooks will give each pod to have access to the Internet which opens up a wide range of discovery. Students will then have access to scholarly databases, online texts, current events as well as be able to work in class on Google Classroom which allows me to give immediate and specific feedback. Daily access to Chromebooks gives students an edge as 21st century learners.
Your generous donation will provide Chromebook access to over 100 students who are on diverse academic paths.
Lastly, Chromebooks will provide more concrete visual examples to my students who are learning English as a second language.
