My students need a place to organize and charge the Chromebooks we use every day.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Jordan's classroom raised $198

My Students
Every day we use our Chromebooks for online math and reading programs and for research. Every day we waste valuable minutes untangling cords and trying to charge Chromebooks that were not plugged in the night before. Oh how great it would be to have an organization tool to manage this process.
My students are becoming Chromebook savvy.
They have learned how to use Google Docs and work collaboratively on research. We use our Chromebooks in centers rotations to practice math and reading skills, through sites like Prodigy Math, Epic Books, Matific, Study Island, and Lyrics2Learn. The students are engaged and learning. Most of my students do not have computers at home, as we are a population of low-income families, who cannot afford the technology or the internet to use it. We are a Title 1 school, with 100% free lunch offered daily. For most students, the classroom is the only place they are give the chance to learn about and use computer technology and we love our Chromebooks! Now, if we could get them organized to use them more efficiently...
My Project
With this Chromebook organizing station, we would be able to end the forever tangled mess of power cords and chargers, that currently waste our precious learning minutes. This station would keep our 9 Chromebooks in one place, able to be charged efficiently, and easily retrievable for daily use. We would no longer spend time trying to untangle cords so we can plug in the Chromebooks to be charged or have a heap of tangle cords on the floor when we get our Chromebooks to use.
Chromebooks and the technology they afford my students is increasingly valuable.
My class loves online learning, research, and creation of documents. We all know being adept at using technology is a critical skill in academic and professional environments, and we do so love our Chromebooks. If only we could eliminate the mess of cords and space to store them, so we could use them more often and more effectively....sigh! :)
