This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I would like to express my gratitude for you all taking the time to read this. It has been 8 months and counting where the school I am at has provided all I needed, however with the Coronavirus outbreak, some items are in dire(school is unable to provide given the amount) need so my students may continue to succeed educationally.

What is so special about my students?

This is my first year teaching and to be honest I was exposed to a lot of internet post about teacher's quitting or being pushed to the limit due to their students. For one, I am glad to say my students did not push me to the edge and in a matter of fact I would it is the quite opposite. My students continue to surpass my expectation and master the Math and English content with ease. The latter is an incredible feat, given the fact that English is their second language. The majority go the extra mile to master English as many downloaded Duolingo (not homework or in the curriculum) and practice everyday.

My Project

The Coronavirus has impacted many aspects of society, but given that the school I am a teacher at is Title I school, it has hit us even harder. A majority of our students are on free and reduced lunch. A quick google search can show you the qualifications needed to be on free and reduced lunch in Texas. You can see from the search the picture of need the school has.

This Coronavirus hardship does not have to weigh so much on the shoulders of students.

Already some society aspects have kicked in to help(Spectrum has given 2 months of free internet(maybe more) and etc.). The only thing left the students need to have a fighting chance is a platform to use the free internet. Chromebooks will fill the gaps needed to ensure the students at my school are on par with those students who are fortunate. I do not need a class set, but I tallied that 3 Chromebooks will ensure everyone in my class has a platform to learn.
