Help me give my students and parents better access to communication with me. This will also help with displaying zoom calls for virtual birthday parties and parent read aloud segments.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Lewis's classroom raised $639

My Students
I am an educational assistant in a Pre-K classroom in an inner-city school in Harlem. My school has several Pre-K classes. Every year we are introduced to bright, caring, and curious explorers.
In the current state of the world, our students need to be equipped with supplies at home.
Every year they come to us with limited experiences and our goal is to expose them to as much as academically possible. I am confident that with the right tools, we will give them the best school year possible.
My Project
While the school did provide a chrome book, it is not compatible with some of the functions I would like to use for my class. For example, it doesn't allow me to save to a usb drive. I also would like to use this laptop for my after school program. I need a computer to find and make activities to print for my class (same for after school group). I use the computer for email correspondence with parents in a weekly update.
Between communication, class activities, zoom, and scheduling, I rely heavily on technology access.
I would like to provide the best experience possible. Some activities that I recently made were "Go Fish - Alphabet" and a "Count/Draw the Babies' Teeth." These were a hit however it took loads of back and forth because I had to send to other devices to print and use some editing feature. I feel this equipment would be helpful in making games for class in a shorter period of time and with less fuss. I am looking forward to using the computer with the Promethean Board. In order to do so, I have included an HDMI cord and adapter.
In short, donating to this project will help with in school learning as I make activities. It will help with remote learning, should we need to switch back over due to snow days or quarantine. It will also help with at home learning because my weekly emails to parents include a summary of what we do at school and helpful videos/activities for parents to supplement learning and have meaningful conversations about school.
