This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My amazing group of third graders this year are eager and asking to grow their brains. This group of students are creative, hardworking and unique.
With limited access to resources, they still have a strong desire to learn.
They come from low-income households. In addition, most are served free or reduced priced lunches. Despite financial challenges, they come to school every morning ready to learn and are always giving their best. They deserve to have available Chromebooks to feel prepared for school.
My Project
With a Chromebook and headset, my students can read, watch, learn and create endless pieces of work. I dream that some day I will have a 1:1 of Chromebooks for my students so that they will leave third grade comfortable with typing, researching and creating their own documents and slides as their reports. State testing is administerd on a computer. It's vital that students have access to computers to practice typing skills and navigation.
If this project is funded, this Chromebook will improve our classroom in tremendous ways!
We have WIFI at our school which makes using Chromebooks amazing because we can use the device in the library, buddy classrooms, or anywhere on campus! When using WIFI we can type our reports on Google Docs.
We use various online learning programs that have weekly minute demands. It's stressful to meet the minute demands when we don't have enough devices in the classroom. With another Chromebook we will be able to work in small groups and rotate the Chromebooks.
In addition my students will be able to access our class email account more frequently to work on Google Documents and use Google Classroom to the fullest. It will be a dream!
