Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school in a high poverty area. My students are 100% free breakfast/lunch and many of them go home with a backpack of food to get throughout the weekend. Despite the adverse circumstances, as a teacher I believe, my students deserve to have a technology integration classroom. Not only because is a valuable asset that effectively enhances students ability to learn and connect in all learning styles, if not make learning more meaningful and fun.
My students are English Learners and required differentiation instruction in small groups.
My Project
Two Chromebooks will allow my student to develop their five language domains like reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension. It will help them learn through websites containing information designed to challenge English Learner students to improve their knowledge/comprehension throughout phonics, online leveled books, bilingual sites helping them tremendously to expand their cognitive knowledge and higher order thinking skills.
Also, a printer with ink will allow me to have access to many resources that I can print so that I can help my students with visual aids, resources from our English Language Department stored on the internet.
We'll use materials and resources more efficiently and in a faster manner.
