Every day, my students come in anticipating what our daily activities will be! Teaching special education students, I try to vary activities so they never know what to expect so it will keep their interest.
If you want to see the country, come to my school!
We are a very rural school, with students having to ride an hour to get to school. Around 80% of all students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
With my students being special education students, they fit in this bracket more than normal students. But we do not let this defeat us! I try my best to find fun and creative ways for my students to understand the topics we cover in biology through art and manipulatives, and I can tell you it has worked! Biology is a state-tested subject, and I can proudly say all my students passed the state test this past year.
My Project
In Biology, we do a lot of research about many different topics. We want our students to understand the whole picture and we want them to be able to learn at their own pace.
With this requested Samsung Chromebook, students will be able to research at their own pace and do virtual labs.
This will give students more opportunities that they can not get in a classroom setting.
Students will be able to take responsibility for their research and discover new things about the topics we are discussing on their own.
With your help my students will have some of the best technology that is offered.
