Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from all over the world and eager to learn English. They are in a bilingual setting and bring their rich culture to our classroom. They are here not only learning grade-level content, but another language at the same time.
My students love to read, so I would like to continue having high interest books in their library.
I want them to continue their love for reading and continue seeing growth in their reading levels.
My Project
I work in a Title 1 school in the Bronx with English Language Learners. I have been blessed to work with such an amazing group of students that are motivated to learn and keep progressing in their English Language skills. Due to the language barrier many of my students are below grade level in reading and writing. I would like to support them with graphic novels and books that would be more comprehensible for them. When working with ELL students it is important we use different forms of teaching which is why the Chomebooks would be very beneficial to incorporate in the classroom as well.
These products will provide my English Language Learners with the resources they need to continue succeeded in school.
I know they will become more engaged in reading. They deserve to have quality books and the technology they need in their classroom.
