This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from hardworking families on the West Side of Chicago. They are incredibly bright and have an enormous capacity to learn, to work diligently, and to succeed! I wish to match their incredible efforts with the best possible resources here in our learning community.

At this time, when critical thinking is often disregarded in favor of "alternative facts", my students and I are trying our best each day to promote the crafting of logical claims and the citation of relevant evidence.

My Project

My teaching team and I are hustling to gather any and all supplies that our fifth and sixth grade students will need to successfully learn at home this first semester of 2020-21.

Just like my fellow teachers everywhere, I am working to plan and provide remote instruction that inspires mathematical, scientific, reading, and writing EXCELLENCE in each of my students!

I am requesting composition notebooks and backpacks to safely carry home all of the textbooks and supplies we'll provide so that they'll enjoy a successful semester of distance learning!

Through the gifts of other generous donors to this point, we have been able to gather pencil boxes filled with supplies, guided journals to help our kids manage their difficult feelings during this tough time, and all the textbooks we'll need to teach from home!

Your donation to this project in particular will help us to gather all of these gifts into backpacks for safe and organized transport to each of our kids' homes.
