This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Christmas around the world! This is such a fun time of year and I love to teach my students about how other parts of the world celebrate Christmas. Diversity activities teach children to respect and celebrate the differences in all people. Learning about different cultural aspects offers new experiences for children. It also helps them honor differences in how we look or dress, or what we eat or celebrate.

This project will give my students the opportunity to commemorate other cultures.

In this project there are things like dreidels, red envelopes, maple lollipops, English crackers, menorah, nutcracker and more. Each item will go along with a lesson from a different part of the world. I have done these lessons in the past and my students have loved it. This will be the first year I attach something tactile that they can see, feel, and taste. My goal is to have an immersive lesson where the students get to experience a little piece of each country.
