Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I am teaching a wonderful group of 28 fourth graders. They are sweet and kind, and they love coming to school to see their friends and to learn more each and every day. My school campus is a very positive and upbeat place where everyone works as a team and where the students are the heart of all of our decisions. All of the staff is happy to come to work to see the students learn and grow on a daily basis. I could not ask to teach at a better campus!
My Project
Research has shown that students learn their best when they are able to choose a comfortable place to sit. I want to give my students different options of places to sit in my classroom so that their level of learning is at an optimum.
My students need portable lap desks, floor cushions, and floor chairs with backs so that they will have the ability to choose a comfortable place to sit while they are engaged in learning and so that their learning will be at an optimal level.
My students are currently fighting over 2 student desks that I have taken the legs off of, so if I had more flexible seating options, they would be happier, their learning will increase, and I will be happier as well.
