My Students

My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds and life experiences. They are eager to learn and want to do well. However, 50% of our population receives free and reduced price lunch. Regardless of where they come from, my students come to school excited to learn. I want to provide them with the best environment possible to maximize instruction and help them reach their full academic potential.

I want to give my students a gift that will help them remember third grade and remind them to always choose kind.

My Project

My students have been listening to the audiobook Wonder for several months. This story has stirred up curiosities within them and has provided amazing discussions between the children and I. Hearing August's story has ignited a passion within them. I hear them saying things like, "what would August do?" and "remember to be kind like in Wonder!" Hearing these types of statements and knowing that this is what they are taking away from the story makes me proud.

It would mean so much to my students to be able to take away a little piece of August with them as they depart third grade.

I would hope that this book would serve as a reminder of their special time in third grade and to always, always choose kind.
