My Project
"Wonder" by R.J. Palacio is more than just a novel; it is a powerful tool to build empathy, self-awareness, and respect in 5th-grade students. This moving story about Auggie Pullman invites students to explore powerful themes like kindness, acceptance, and courage.
We will use "Wonder" for a comprehensive reading and writing unit.
Students will engage in close reading to deepen comprehension, analyze character development, and explore point of view.
Wonder fosters critical discussions about bullying, acceptance, resilience, and the importance of seeing people for who they truly are- all while strengthening vocabulary, reading fluency, and writing stamina.
By bringing "Wonder" into our classroom, you are helping develop emotionally intelligent and thoughtful students. Your support will allow each student to hold a copy, follow along in class discussions, and not only grow as readers but as human beings.
