My Students

My students have high-functioning autism. My students are awesome problem solvers. They have skills that will make the world a much better place when they are adults. They take risks. They represent our school. They work hard. They inspire me.

My Project

Choices magazine helps preteens and teens to connect their world to the world around them. My students are only exposed to limited and unreliable media at home and may not understand that there are students out there just like them with similar problems. This magazine will help inform and entertain the students with fresh content on relevant topics: mental health, self image, and substance abuse to name a few. Kids really respond to the topics, graphs, and visual aids. The online version makes it easier to present virtually should the need occur.
