Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a Title I School, meaning at least 40% of the families in our school are considered low income. The Title I policy is “committed to closing the achievement gap between low-income students and other students” as per the U.S. Department of Education.
Fourth and fifth graders are such an exciting group with mixed interests and abilities.
Our students have one thing in common, their curiosity for science and art! These students love to build and make new experiments.
These materials will help 4th and 5th graders participate Choice Time activities. Choice Time allows freedom and power in the classroom. It provides students the autonomy to determine their own route in which they want to go. Student choice allows students the opportunity to choose the materials and the resources they will utilize and play with their friends!
With these materials we will incorporate many aspects of art, and science. We plan to use glue and activator to make slime. We will use the containers to store slime safely to either leave in school or take home. We plan to use paint in various ways on paper and off! We will use Pokemon cards so kids can trade their cards. We will use squishy to gift to students or they can use to focus throughout the day. This will get messy! We need bounty. Our microphone will help with students who need to project their voices during presentations. The bracelets will be used to make bracelets for themselves or gift to other people.
