My Project
My name is Ms. Shiver. I am a first-year special education teacher that serves students ranging from 2nd-4th grade in a pull-out setting. I received my bachelor’s degree in special education in May 2022, and I am currently continuing my studies in a Master’s Dyslexia Endorsement.
I am so excited for my first year of teaching, and I want to provide my students with a learning environment that is fun, friendly, and safe!
With that being said, I believe that many of the items on my wish list will help create the best environment possible for my students to make strides in learning throughout this school year. Specifically, the circle dots will make small groups comfortable on the carpet and create flexible seating for students to complete various activities. Additionally, the file organizers will assist me in keeping student folders/binders organized and easily accessible by my students on a daily basis. Also, the sensory items will create a sense of safety for students and even be used as coping mechanisms by some students. The sand tracing kit will help me provide students with multi-sensory learning opportunities.
As a whole, this project is very important to me and will provide students with the best environment possible for the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you so much in advance.
