Our school is located within the city limits and has a diverse population of students and staff that work together to make our school great. My students all have challenges but we work together to meet those challenges head on.
We strive to create a learning environment that promotes celebration and with your help we can throw our hands up in the air for learning.
All learning is celebrated in our classroom no matter how large or small the achievement may be.
Each of my students are unique and have hearts of gold. They are always willing to do their best and to help each other. I am proud to be a part of their learning environment.
My Project
Using fidgets, calming lights and sounds ease my students when they become overstimulated. I want to create a chill zone in one corner of my classroom to provide students the tools they need to come back to center.
A chill zone is a great way to provide my students a safe place to reflex, relax, and regroup so that they may continue with their day.
Having a chill zone available for all students to access is a great way to give them the space they need to deal with how they are feeling at the moment and providing them fidgets aids in their ability to calm down. This also allows the teacher a great opportunity to spend a few minutes one on one with the student and provide additional support as needed.
