Children's Books for Our Young Parents and Pregnant Teens

My Students

My students are creative, dedicated, fun, and pregnant/parenting!

These kiddos have kiddos of their own, and are learning to navigate parenthood while getting their high school diplomas!

They love being able to come to school each day and have a safe and welcoming environment to learn in. We love to celebrate our accomplishments and learn from our mistakes.

Many of my students do not have access to technology or school supplies at home.

I want to help provide them with a space where they can laugh and learn together (both online at in the building).

My Project

Our students are dedicated young parents and pregnant teens who are working hard to get their high school diplomas while raising children. In fact, many of our students have multiple children and are trying to navigate a job on top of their education.

Since our students are young and currently going to school, they have a hard time getting access to books for their children.

I want to eliminate their obstacles.

I have found a variety of books that the students will be able to take home to read to their children. It was important to find books that help our students have challenging and sometimes hard conversations with their young ones. All of these books touch on social-emotional awareness, problem-solving, self-acceptance, courage, and the importance of communication. These books will not only encourage our students to read to their children but also will help their young ones learn about the world and themselves.
