Children, Let's Not Fight Over Who Gets an iPad Today!
Help me give my students a set of 4 iPads with cases so that they may access online resources to support their learning and create collaborative projects.
This is my fourth year teaching first grade after 12 years teaching 4th and 5th grade. I love how first graders are inquisitive and enthusiastic learners! Each day they come to school prepared to give 110%! Our classroom learning community values all diversity and celebrates each others' uniqueness.
Every child knows he/she is special and can explore their future career path in my classroom - the next great scientist, writer, engineer, or future entrepreneur's start might be right here in my classroom!
They are the future, so I hope to set them up for life long success!
This project will benefit all our first graders here at Huntingtown as we share our technology resources when doing projects.
My Project
My students are excited young learners. They love to research and create projects. We love making videos to practice our reading fluency. We love doing all these things, but we do not love our prehistoric desktop computers. They freeze up, they threaten us with the "blue screen of death", and getting a critical error is common place. Sound? Who needs working sound on a computer, anyway? As our school's desktop computers die, our central office is not replacing them with new models. We do have a couple iPads, but overall, our first grader's access to technology tools are quickly becoming more and more limited. To counter this, I would love to have a set of iPads for students to use.
