I use the other iPad with my entire school. However, I have students that are in my functional unit who require programs to communicate around campus. We do not have the funds to get iPads, so I am being their voice. Please assist us!
My students are in a functional classroom, and we would like to see them get out more with other students and faculty and communicate.
In order to do so, we need iPads. Notice, I said plural; however if I can get one, that would be a blessing. Your support would be greatly appreciated so they can have a voice as well.
My Project
They will use the dynavox app along with whatever other apps are necessary (it varies with student). They will use the devices when communicating with peers and adults in the morning at breakfast, lunch, and with peers in PE. It will also assist in speech therapy and in the classroom communication. It will lower the frustration of the student trying to express him or herself.
We all know communication is valuable.
Our society would be a disaster without it. So you can imagine the joy these children would have being able to request a food item, make a conversational greeting, etc.
