Chicken Soup for the Soul

My students need 20 copies of "Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul 2".

Our struggling readers need books in their hands. I am the Title I (reading support) person for 4th grade in a high-poverty school, located in a migrant farming community. Currently 43% of our 4th grade students are below grade level in reading.

We are able to provide extra reading support for our high needs students, but we do not have enough books for them to use outside of class. They keep asking if they can borrow the books we use.

It would greatly benefit these struggling readers if they could use the same book outside of class. This would provide them with an additional opportunity to practice the skills they have been working on with the same text. Re-reading not only improves sight word knowledge, but also fluency and comprehension.

We want to change our 43% of students below grade level in reading to 100% above! You can help us reach our goal by providing books for our struggling 4th graders to use outside of class and take home to share with their families.
