I am in my third year of teaching enthusiastic groups of kindergarteners with many different levels of skills, interests and creativity. I love seeing how excited my students get on different projects we work on throughout the year. Students come to us as kindergartners ready to learn and eager for new activities.
With my school being a title one school many students are not exposed to any enriching extra curricular activities such as raising chickens.
This excites me to do my best enrich my students through hand on learning experiences inside the class. Students are able to experience life long lessons that will help them to learn and explore.
My Project
During this last year my students enjoyed learning about the chicken life cycle, unfortunately due to poor out-dated equipment our experience with the incubator did NOT allow us to fully complete the project. The materials and supply that I am requesting will help solve this problem and allow my students to fully experience the world of the chicken life cycle.
This hand on project will not only engage these students into exploring and experiencing life cycles of animals, but it also encourages our reading and writing in kindergarten.
By donating the supplies needed for this project students will be able to see each stage of the egg in real life, as well as be able to compare and contrast each stage with the Life Cycle Exploration set.
