Help me give my students the chance to be part of a chick embryology project! We will be learning about the chick life cycle as the eggs incubate. Once hatched, they will be returned to a working farm!
These items will be used to begin what will be an annual embryology project at our school. An embryology project provides a hands-on learning experience about the life cycle, allowing students to observe and understand the development of an embryo. Additionally, this project will foster a deeper understanding of basic biology concepts while promoting critical thinking skills through observation, data collection, and analysis. Instilling respect for life through witnessing the miracle of hatching chicks in a classroom setting.
The main goal of this project is to spark curiosity, excitement, and engagement in science in all of our students.
There will be a live video feed which will allow all of our K-5 students to participate in this project by studying the embryology lessons and tracking data such as temperature and humidity inside of the incubator.
Once the chicks hatch, every student will have the opportunity to visit with them over a few days. In the end, the chicks will be returned to a real working farm where they will live for the rest of their lives.
