This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a PreK teacher, I teach some of the youngest learners on the south side of Chicago. Many of them aren't reading (yet), but some of them already are! I believe that a lot of their reading skills at this young age come from them truly enjoying books.
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and their whole series has been a whole class favorite this year!
I would love for my students to be able to bring their love for these books home and share them with their families and loved ones. The home and school connection is very important with our youngest learners and I believe sending home a set of these books with each child will really help strengthen that connection, setting them up for success in kindergarten.
