My Project

Thank you for checking out my DonorsChoose project! I am so incredibly proud of my students' enthusiasm and the joy they share with me daily. They are truly attentive, eager to learn, and possess immense potential to make progress toward their speech and language goals. I love helping them achieve their communication, speech, and language goals!

As a speech-language pathologist for Chicago Public Schools, this is my fourth year working with students across three schools on the South and West Sides of the district, areas that are often underfunded and under supported.

My students range from ages 3 to 18. All of my students have special education needs outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). They navigate various communication disorders, including receptive-expressive language, articulation/speech intelligibility, phonology, stuttering, and social language. Despite their disabilities, they are hard workers who have a passion for life, and it's a privilege to support them.

The Apple iPad Pro will revolutionize our speech therapy. It offers a dynamic, interactive platform to address complex speech-language goals. This device lets us use specialized apps for improving receptive-expressive language, practicing articulation and phonology, and boosting pragmatics. Its advanced capabilities provide engaging, modern resources crucial for high-quality, data-driven therapy, especially in our technology-lacking schools.

The SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro Fullbody Case is essential for protecting this vital resource. Working with diverse students across multiple under-resourced sites means durability is paramount. This case safeguards our investment, ensuring consistent, worry-free use.

Speech therapy materials are often priced at a premium, making it challenging for school-based clinicians, especially in underfunded areas, to acquire high-quality, updated resources.
