My Students

My students are part of the Academy of Information Technology, a four-year Information Technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media(Year 2), Web Design(Year 3), and AP Computer Science Principles(Year 4).

We are a STEM / STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school.

Currently, the Academy of IT has just over 340 students in grade 9-12. More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM / STEAM into the curriculum to allow students to have a cross-curriculum instruction that incorporates their core subject areas.

My Project

These supplies will help within our classroom by adding more technology into our program. Our last project allowed us to get a printer and the toner that is added in this project will help us to continue printing.

Students are more motivated to be in an environment that showcases them.

The Polaroid camera and paper will be used to print pictures of students and showcase the students who are part of our Information Technology Academy.

This year we received a 3D printer and students have been enjoying designing 3D models and then seeing their 3D model come to life when it is printed. the Glow in the dark filament will be a great surprise, for students to showcase their work.

The laptop will be used to have the software that we need to use our 3D printer and be able to move it all over the school. Other software we will install is Unity to create gaming and Virtual Reality worlds, and lastly software to monitor student computers, to insure that students are learning.
