Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in our K-5 physical education classes are very energetic with a constant desire to improve their skills. They come to class looking forward to moving in new fun and challenging ways. They love to activities from dance to soccer with many between.

The multi-ethnic students at our school are inclusive, goal oriented learners that focus on overcoming their challenges in many different ways.

The student are challenged to be in a constant state of improvement and never fearing mistakes or giving up.

My Project

For the morning fitness club, lunchtime dance teams and activity clubs, the mats would create a safer environment for them to workout, dance and play. With no fear of slipping or getting rug burn while being physically active the students will enjoy their activities more.

During regular physical education class the checker board arrangement planned will help to organize the student into safe personal spaces allowing each student to move without colliding with others.

Safety is the first planning aspect of all the lessons then the focal skill with the inclusion of all student in the enjoyable activity. The students are challenged to discover activities that they will potentially enjoy and participate in the rest of their lives.

The mats will add a nice visual aspect to the classroom making it a more enticing environment. With the added visual appeal to an inclusive atmosphere, all student will have the opportunity to learn in an environment that is safe and meets their needs.
