Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school is a Title I school and COVID-19 has directly impacted my students self esteem and social skills, as well as, their academic performance.
One way I would like to help my students is to start a chess club at my school.
Playing chess can help concentration, problem solving, and critical reasoning. I also hope that the club will increase social skills and sportsmanship which have been impacted due to COVID-19.
In addition, I have requested flexible seating for those students who need to move in order to focus better.
