Our school is for students with special needs who, because of severe emotional and behavioral issues, have not had success at their regular schools. We focus on teaching the social skills and coping strategies that will enable them to correct their behaviors and find the success that they long for and deserve.
Our school provides a safe place where students can learn from their mistakes in a nurturing environment, develop coping skills that will allow them to be successful in all settings, and master problem-solving strategies while engaging in the district-wide academic curriculum.
Our daily goal is to keep our students in a learning environment where they can experience academic success. The ultimate goal is to give them the coping strategies they need to be able to be successful back in their regular schools and in all areas of their lives. We strive to give them the kind of high-quality lessons and activities that will authentically engage them in rigorous learning and enable them to become happy and productive citizens.
My Project
These materials will be used to teach student how to play these classic games. Sometimes some of these classic games get overlooked for the more flashy video type entertainment.
What fun it will be to watch the students put down the controller and learn to love these classic games!
The benefits the students will experience as they learn to play these classic games are endless. Students will be practicing problem-solving, strategizing, sportsmanship, and more as they learn to play these games that will require some real critical thinking skills. They will also be learning some pastimes and leisure activities that might be otherwise overlooked in their digital-native lives.
