Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are creative and curious, inquisitive and kind, especially when they are engaged positively. During our optional library recess for middle schoolers, kids read, draw, rest, or socialize with peers through games and LEGO.
Last year, we introduced chess, and it has brought even more engagement to our upper middle school students.
We hope with the introduction of these new chess sets and books, as well as some activities for the younger students like Lite Brite and Connect Four, more students will join us for a relaxing, productive and fun recess. This is a necessary break from a long day of learning.
