This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In order to be eligible to take the New York State Chemistry Regents, high school students need to complete at least 1200 laboratory minutes. Unfortunately our school is limited on the lab supplies needed to fulfill these requirements. Our students are Bronx students who come from many languages, cultural backgrounds, and economic backgrounds. They are bright students who will become engineers, X-ray technicians, doctors, nurses, dentists, and many other professions.

Our chemistry class room needs glassware like beakers, chemical reagents, and lab equipment in order to conduct more experiments.

Science education in New York City faces inequities in classrooms, often disadvantaging students from underrepresented groups. These inequities can come from factors like less access to quality resources which can impact student engagement and achievement.

By helping our school, you are helping to close the achievement gap that many Bronx public school students face. Our student deserve the best opportunity to fulfill their potential. Thank you.
