I teach in a Full Day Kindergarten classroom. We have a play house in our classroom that is a center that my students visit daily.
We had play food for our house, but over the summer it has disappeared! The children who visit the Home Living Center each day have a few brooms, mops, and plates to pretend with, but nothing else!
I would like to have some new play food, baskets, and dishware for my students to use to enhance their imagination, social, and emotional skills. Many times my students will visit the Home Living Center and comment on the lack of food--they are so bored in fact, that they all want to be placed in another center for the day! Home Living is usually the favorite center!
Your donation will make it possible for my students to re-ignite their love of pretend play! They will learn the crucial social, emotional, and problem solving skills it takes to be successful in Kindergarten and for the rest of their lives.
