My Students

My classroom is filled with students who have a variety of different needs. Some of my scholars have disabilities, some are English second language learners, some have emotional needs, and others simply need to be motivated. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis, they come to school ready to learn. I love to see their eyes light up with smiles on their faces when they want to participate in a large group discussion to show they have grasped the skill that was taught during early instruction.

My Project

The document camera will help enhance our math and science lessons in the classroom or virtually while we adjust to our new norm this upcoming school year. To adhere to New York State guidelines, we may start the year virtually or in the classroom practicing social distancing with a limit of physical exchange of materials. A document camera is a great tool to make presentations to my students. It can project one page or a 3D object. Imagine showing all sides of a model or object, so your class can see it all at once. This will alleviate the need to make many copies or need to pass it around, which may disengage students' attention. In either circumstance, this camera will be a great tool to ensure all my students are actively engaged in learning.

There are numerous ways to utilize a document camera.

I can access different educational resources while teaching live in the classroom or remotely at home. If learning virtually, it gives my students a more in person class learning engagement experience. Also, if teaching distant or in classroom learning, this camera will assist in modeling exemplar work, reviewing and checking class/homework assignments. Most importantly, it will keep my scholars actively engaged in class lessons.
