My Students
Reading unlocks the door to success- I believe this wholeheartedly! We need more challenging chapter books in our classroom so that I can help guide my students to their own success!
My second graders absolutely love to read! Our school is in a small community outside of central Ohio. They love to listen to books read aloud to them, read books on their own, and have even written a few themselves! These kids love to learn and I am constantly trying to find ways to challenge them.
My Project
These chapter books will help to challenge and engage my higher reading students. During our reading workshop time, the kids choose books to read on their own while I meet with small guided reading groups. I don't have many chapter books at these higher levels and my students who need a little "extra" are begging for books!
This project is so important because it will help me to meet the needs of all students in my classroom. I have a lot of materials to support my struggling readers, but readers who need more challenging materials sometimes don't get their higher needs met. I appreciate your consideration in bringing materials to my eager readers!
