This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I coach in a Title I school that is located in a diverse, low socio-economic neighborhood in the Bay Area. I have 7 eager cheerleaders this year. They come to every practice and training day enthusiastic and excited to learn new skills and improve on known skills. My goal is to have materials that foster a love of physical education and team sports and a wide variety of skills and knowledge about the sport.

Student-athletes, especially my cheerleaders, love to explore, discover, and perfect skills and techniques and they need the proper equipment to make this possible.

I want my student-athletes to have the materials necessary to learn and perfect skills and techniques so that they can have a positive and successes experience.

My Project

As of now, our cheer team lacks training equipment to learn necessary skills and techniques to become a stronger, more competitive team. Due to State and Federal budget cuts, our fundraising/donation efforts have become even more critical to maintaining our high school sports programs. We hope that you and/or your company would be interested in and willing to support our efforts to provide our student-athletes with the necessary training equipment.

I am asking for equipment that will improve my student-athletes skills and technique in jumps, kicks, stunting, tumbling, sideline cheer, and dance performances.

With this new equipment, our team will become a stronger, more competitive team.
