The CSS junior varsity cheerleading team is composed of talented, dedicated, intelligent, and diverse students who travel from all over the New York City Metropolitan area to attend. Our school is a select STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school in partnership with Columbia University. We are the only select STEM school that represents the true diverse margins of New York City.
This team has grown immensely and brings school spirit in all it does.
This year, we made our national debut and performed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. This last fall we also performed at Columbia University for one of their football games! Other notable accomplishments include: winning several competitions and held a clinic for younger students to give them the opportunity and access to cheerleading. The enthusiasm our team has is not only for our school but also to share our pride with the community.
My Project
Our team needs to order music for our upcoming competitions and performances. Unfortunately, cheer music costs a lot as you need to pay for the license usage of each song. Each routine mix is composed of several different songs as the various beats which allows the team to better showcase the versatility of cheerleading: dance, gymnastics, and stunts!
With this music, we will be able to bring our routines to life!
With great cheer music, our team will be able to preform a lot better as it helps us stay on counts. It also allows us to choose speeds that our team can handle and can be also used for crowd leading--a scored portion of the competitions. Once we are done with the music, we can recycle it to be used for our junior varsity team next year. In addition we can always use it for motion drills as cheer requires quick movement switches that need to be trained!
